Yountville entry with warm holiday lights and garland

Yountville is small, dense and disproportionately important. A few walkable blocks hold some of the most-visited restaurants and inns in the country, and in December the village fills with people who have booked months ahead and expect the evening to look the part.

That makes Yountville the most hospitality-weighted place we work. Even the residential jobs sit in a village where the standard is set by what the inns and restaurants do on Washington Street.

What we do here

What Yountville work involves

  • Pedestrian-scale detail. Nobody views Yountville from a car at forty miles an hour. People walk it, slowly, at night, often between dinner and a drink. That changes the design entirely — entry detail, garland, wreaths, courtyard and tree lighting matter far more than a high roofline run nobody looks up at.
  • Courtyards and outdoor dining. Catenary and bistro runs over courtyards and terraces, anchored to proper structural points. Yountville does more outdoor winter dining than anywhere else in the valley, and heated terraces need to look as good as they feel.
  • Inn and restaurant entries. The arrival moment is the whole job. Door surrounds, portico framing, planters and the few feet either side of the entrance.
  • Village homes. Behind the commercial strip are cottages, bungalows and newer infill. Small rooflines, close neighbors, and displays that read from the sidewalk rather than the road.
  • Tight access. Narrow frontages, shared walls, limited parking and constant foot traffic. Installs here are scheduled early morning or after close, and we work compact.

Timing around the village calendar

Yountville businesses cannot have ladders in a doorway during service, and December weekends are effectively untouchable. In practice that means commercial installs happen early October through mid-November, before the season properly starts, and residential work fills in around it.

If you run a Yountville business, the conversation needs to start in late summer. By the time the holiday menus are set, our village dates are usually gone.

How we protect your home

  • We won’t fasten into historic or heritage fabric — and much of the village qualifies.
  • We won’t walk tile, which covers a good share of the village roofs.
  • We won’t install during service hours where it blocks an entrance or a sidewalk.
  • We won’t take a commercial date that leaves no buffer before your first December booking.

Common questions

When do you install in Yountville?
Commercial work runs early October to mid-November, before the season starts properly. Nobody wants a ladder in their doorway in December, and neither do we. Residential work fits around that.
Can you install outside business hours?
Yes, and for most village businesses we do — early mornings or after close. It is the normal way to work a street this busy.
We have a courtyard for winter dining. Can you light it?
Yes. Catenary and bistro runs over outdoor dining are some of our favorite work, anchored to proper structural points rather than whatever is closest. Yountville does more winter outdoor dining than anywhere in the valley.
Our building is historic. What can you actually attach to?
Nothing goes into the building. We use gutter lines, existing structural anchor points, tension runs and freestanding elements. We will walk it with you and be clear about what is and is not possible.
Is Yountville more expensive than Napa?
Same pricing for the same scope. Village commercial jobs cost more because they are detail-heavy and installed outside hours, not because of the postcode.
Do you do the small village homes too, or only businesses?
Both. Village homes are lovely to work on — small rooflines, close neighbors, and displays designed to read from the sidewalk.
How much does it cost to run through December?
Very little. C9 LED bulbs draw about a watt each, so even a substantial frontage is a small number over the whole season.
Is takedown included?
Yes, on every install, scheduled around your January calendar.
